Hotel Room Tax ExemptionEmployees of U.S. Government agencies traveling on official business and holding a Centrally Billed Account (CBA) card are exempt from state and local hotel taxes. Anyone claiming a hotel tax exemption must provide a completed “Colorado Government Certificate of Tax Exemption Form” at the time of check in. Hotels must keep a copy of the signed certificate to show why tax was not collected. Federal Employees traveling on government business must present a valid government ID Card and a copy of the certificate in order to be considered for tax exemption.
